Tanker truck driver sues for slip on fuel

Bob Craig filed a personal injury suit against HWRT Oil Company in Madison County Circuit Court Nov. 30, claiming he was injured at the HWRT terminal in Norris City in Saline County.

Craig claims in his capacity as an employee of McDaniel Transportation, he was attempting to refuel his tanker truck with liquid petroleum on June 28, 2006, when he slipped on spilled fuel.

Craig claims HWRT breached its duty of care by acting or failing in one or more of the following ways:

  • failed to properly maintain the premises;

  • failed to warn him and others of the unreasonably dangerous condition on the premises; and

  • failed to provide notice of the unreasonably dangerous condition on the premises.

    He claims he greatly injured his body causing him to endure great pain and suffering, medical expenses and lost wages and benefits.

    Represented by Thomas Crosby of Winters, Brewster, Crosby and Schaefer in Marion, Craig is seeking damages in excess of $50,000, plus costs.
