ConocoPhillips worker claims parking lot's rough condition caused injury

Donald Duane Jones filed a personal injury suit in Madison County Circuit Court July 24, seeking damages in excess of $50,000, against ConocoPhillips.

Represented by Dawna Hale of the Mallon Law Firm, Jones claims he sustained injuries on Oct. 28, 2005, at the ConocoPhillips refinery in Roxana.

Jones claims he injured his knee after falling on a parking lot alleging ConocoPhillips negligently and carelessly failed to use proper materials to surface the lot.

According to Jones, ConocoPhillips allowed large stones and rocks to be used to surface the lot and failed to warn of the rough condition.

He claims his injuries caused pain and suffering, medical expenses, loss of wages, disability and diminution of earning capacity.

The case has been assigned to Circuit Judge Daniel Stack.
