Walkway at Casino Queen causes woman's lower extremity injuries

A woman who tripped and fell while walking in the Casino Queen filed a personal injury suit in St. Clair County Circuit Court July 11, seeking damages in excess of $50,000 for injuries she allegedly received.

Pamela Dees claims that on July 11, 2006, she tripped and fell while walking on a descending walkway inside the hotel on a ramp connecting the hotel structure with the casino structure.

Dees claims the Casino Queen allowed a change in elevation on the walkway, failed to place adequate markings on the walkway to warn of the change in elevation and failed to have a bannister or rail installed to provide a place to grip.

According to Dees, the fall caused injuries to her "lower extremities" that resulted in medical expenses, pain, disability, lost wages and the loss of enjoyment of life.

She is represented by William and Jeffrey Kopis of Belleville.
