A former railroad trackman/machine operator has filed a Federal Employers' Liability Act lawsuit against Union Pacific Railroad Co. in St. Clair County Circuit Court.
Conrad Toledo claims injuries to his neck, spine and body after having been subjected to numerous repetitive traumas throughout his career between 1977 and 2006, such as walking on unstable ballast, operating machines, throwing tie plates, unloading ballast trains and repairing railroad tracks.
Represented by Gregory M. Tobin of Pratt & Tobin of East Alton, Toledo is seeking in excess of $50,000 in damages.
According to the suit filed Nov. 27, Toledo also has suffered great pain and mental anguish, lost earnings, diminishment of earning capacity and incurred medical expenses.
