The most influential person in my decision to become a lawyer: My father, Dr. Maurice R. Hill.
Greatest moment in my professional career: My first plaintiff's jury verdict.
The best piece of advice ever given to me: Get a skill with which to support your family. For enjoyment find a hobby. If you enjoy your work, maybe you should pay for the privilege of doing it.
If I were a Madison County judge...: I would not let current public perceptions dissuade me from dispensing justice.
My favorite three people are: Bonnie, my wife, my children and my grandchildren. (Though at last count the total was more than three, I cannot choose among them).
I'm inspired by: My Redeemer, the promise of a beautiful sunrise, and people who take responsibility for themselves and their neighbors.
Braden Looper --a waste of Cardinals' money-or a really big investment? Looper will be a good acquisition. All professional athletes are "big investments."
Right now I am reading: "Team of Rivals."
Community service includes: Ask the Lawyer, People's Law School, St. Paul Church-Finance Committee, President of St. Vincent de Paul Society, and Rotary Club community projects.
Favorite pastime: Fly fishing.
The best vacation ever: Fly fishing for native Cutthroat Trout on Slough Creek, Yellowstone National Park.
My family includes: Bonnie, my wife; Christopher, my son, Laura, his wife, and Ava and Carter, their children; Sean, my son, Heather, his wife, and Marlena and Isabel, their children; Matthew, my son; and Nicole, my daughter, Bill Findley, her husband, and Hanna, Olivia and Logan, their kids.
