Anderson Hospital

Adem Rushiti filed a medical malpractice case against Anderson Hospital in Maryville on behalf of Adil Rushiti's estate claiming he fell and later died while hospitalized.

According to the complaint filed Feb. 28 in Madison County Circuit Court, Adil Rushiti was admitted to Anderson on Dec. 1, 2004, and after assuming care for him Anderson allegedly failed to properly and adequately supervise him to prevent him from being injured while in the hospital.

Rushiti, represented by John Hopkins of Edwardsville, claims Anderson carelessly and negligently failed to provide proper and adequate safety precautions to prevent hospital patients from being injured and failed to exercise the ordinary amount of diligence to properly document and assess hospital patients.

He also claims Anderson negligently deviated from accepted standards of medical care.

According to the complaint, Adil Rushiti sustained a fall which led to his very poor neurological condition and death during which he suffered acute and prolonged physical and mental pain and suffering.
