Wal-Mart customer Ge-Fanic Sanes filed a lawsuit against the retailer and its electrical contractor claiming numerous injuries, including headaches, after two electrical conduits fell on her Feb. 7, 2004.
Sanes, who filed the lawsuit in St. Clair County Circuit Court Feb. 2, 2006, claims that Guarantee Electrical Co. of Granite City failed to block off an area of O'Fallon Wal-Mart's walkway and failed to warn her of the danger. At the time, the store was under construction to become a Super Wal-Mart.
Guarantee's manager Michael Maxwell and Wal-Mart's manager Jay Miller also are named as co-defendants.
Sanes, of O'Fallon, claims she suffered injuries to her head, neck, left shoulder, left arm, left hand, trunk, vertebrae, intervertebral discs and all the limbs of her body.
"Plaintiff has suffered damage to plaintiff's entire nervous system which has been severely shocked and deranged and that plaintiff suffered, suffers and will in the future continue to suffer great physical pain and mental anguish," the complaint states.
Represented by Lynn A. Fischer of Fischer & Leonard in Clayton, Mo., Sanes is seeking in excess of $200,000 in damages and costs of the suit.
