Commissary employee sued for misplaced meat pallet

A woman who tripped on a meat pallet at the Scott Air Force Base commissary filed a $50,000 personal injury complaint against a store employee in Madison County on Dec. 5.

While grocery shopping on June 26, 2004, Judith Barton claims that Patricia Jackson failed to warn her about the pallet that was directly behind her. Barton alleges she tripped and fell to the floor.

Barton claims she sustained injuries to her arm, foot and shin, experienced pain and suffering, lost wages, became liable for medical expenses and sustained a disability.

She is represented by Lance Mallon of Wood River. The case has been assigned to Circuit Judge Daniel Stack.
