Misstep causes injuries and suit against Enterprise

Enterprise Rental Car in Granite City

Sharon Edwards filed suit against Enterprise Rental Car claiming injuries from tripping on stairs she was climbing at a Granite City store on Sept. 30.

Represented by Fairview Heights attorney Thomas Rich, Edwards states that a hole caused her misstep in a complaint filed Nov. 2 in Madison County.

She alleges Enterprise failed to provide a safe and proper place for her to walk, allowed and permitted the steps to become and remain in a broken condition and failed to warn her of the condition of the steps.

Edwards claims neck, shoulder and low back injuries, and that she has incurred medical expenses related to the fall.

According to Edwards, she also experienced pain and suffering, lost wages and suffered a disability as a result of her injuries.

Edwards is seeking damages in excess of $50,000. The case has been assigned to Circuit Judge George Moran.
