A man who was allegedly bitten by a dog while jogging in Highland filed suit against the dog's owner in Madison County Circuit Court Sept. 29, seeking damages in excess of $50,000.
Michael Olig claims the incident took place near 509 Poplar St. on Oct. 20, 2004, when without provocation, he was bitten by a dog owned by Todd Knutzen.
Olig claims he sustained severe and permanent injuries to his knee, suffered great pain and anguish, was required to seek a physician’s care, was required to take various medications and has been prevented from earning money and participating in many of his usual daily activities.
He is represented by Richard Reed of Belleville. The case will be assigned to the new judge.
