Pasta House in Fairview Heights
Pamela Bretz, who fell with great force and violence while entering the Fairview Heights Pasta House, filed a personal injury suit in St. Clair County Circuit Court July 8 seeking at least $50,000 in damages.
Bretz claims that on Jan. 2, 2004, she was walking near the display case and slipped on a slick and slippery surface.
Represented by Ronald Foster of Glen Carbon, Bretz claims Pasta House was negligent for cleaning the floor with an unknown substance which made it slippery and unreasonably dangerous. She also alleges the restaurant is negligent for not covering the floor with a rug or carpet, and not warning customers about the slippery entrance.
According to the complaint, Bretz suffered permanent injuries to her body, suffered great pain and mental anguish, has been hindered from attending to her regular duties and affairs, lost large sums of money and has become obligated to large amounts of medical expenses.
