Thomas Roth filed suit in Madison County June 27 alleging that Regal Beagle Bar & Grill in Alton sold too many alcoholic beverages to a patron who later on in the night collided with his vehicle.
Roth claims that Mollie Mann rear-ended his vehicle at a high rate of speed on Route 111 in Jersey County on Sept. 14, 2004. Mann is not named as a defendant in the suit.
According to the complaint, Roth suffered injuries to his neck and back, suffered great pain of mind, body and mental anguish, incurred medical expenses, lost wages, and has been prevented from attending to his ordinary affairs of life.
Represented by David Hesi of Wiseman, Hesi, Mormino, Velloff, Edmonds & Snider of Alton, Roth is seeking a “sum that will reasonably and fairly compensate him in excess of $50,000, plus all costs of the suit."
The case has been assigned to Circuit Judge Nicholas Byron.
