ATV injury leads to MC suit

Samuel Aaron Farris filed a two-count lawsuit in Madison County Circuit Court June 10 against his employer, Maggos & Associates of Alton, claiming he was injured on an all terrain vehicle while installing a steel cable in Carbondale on June 18, 2003.

According to the complaint, Maggos & Associates failed to warn Farris of the unsafe condition the cable caused.

Farris also claims that Maggos failed to provide adequate lighting or any form of illumination or designation upon the outstretched cable which would have warned him of the hazardous condition.

Represented by Theodore Hampson of the Patchett Law Office in Marion, Farris is seeking at least $100,000 claiming he suffered damages of a personal and pecuniary nature.

The case has been assigned to Circuit Judge Philip Kardis in Granite City.
