Subway's Jared may have met his match.
The introduction of an innovative healthy eating program in the Metro-East offers a unique solution to the common challenges faced by dieters, diabetics and families on the run.
Seattle Sutton’s Healthy Eating is a fresh meal weight loss program that provides customers with breakfast, lunch and dinner seven days a week.
"The number one reason people don't keep up diets is the preparation and work involved," said Seattle Sutton's Metro-East franchisee Ryan O'Day.
O'Day and his wife, Jamie, moved from Chicago--where Seattle Sutton was founded--in September. In the past seven months he has added 16 distributorships in the St. Louis metropolitan area.
Metro-East locations include Fairview Heights and Edwardsville.
With more than 105 menu items, Seattle Sutton’s Healthy Eating provides 21 fresh, calorie and portion-controlled meals in a week. The fresh meals are low in fat, saturated fat, cholesterol and are sodium restricted. Menus don't repeat for five weeks.
"We take the guess work out of eating healthy and losing weight," O'Day said.
A sample of dinner entrees includes chicken tetrazinni, cornish hens, gnocchi with asparagus and sauce, lasagna and other pastas.
O'Day also said breakfasts, which consist of a variety of muffins, fresh fruit and cheese omelets, are tasty.
"Who the heck is going to be able to eat Special K the rest of their lives?" O'Day pointed out.
Four times a week, O'Day retrieves the food prepared in a 25,000-square-foot commissary in Ottawa, Ill. and returns them to the Metro-East in a refrigerated truck. The meals can be picked up or delivered directly to a customer's home or office twice a week--Monday and Thursdsay.
