Jane Knight's road trip home from Arizona turned into a nightmare when a gust of wind blew open the door of her Alfa Fifth Wheel Trailer, hitting her in the head and spilling her coffee.
Knight filed suit in Madison County Circuit Court March 16 against Alfa Leisure Inc., claiming the door to her 2001 recreational vehicle was defective. She is seeking at least $100,000 in damages for severe and permanent injuries which have caused her to incur pain and suffering, loss of a normal life, medical expenses, and permanent disability and disfigurement.
She alleges that Alfa Leisure failed to provide a door heavy enough to withstand the wind.
Knight is represented by Thomas Falb of Alton. The case has been assigned to Circuit Judge Nicholas Byron.
