Brian Babka was named a new associate circuit judge in St. Clair County on Feb. 15. After he is sworn into office March 1, he will be assigned to Courtroom 108, which handles first appearances for criminal misdemeanor, traffic and felony cases.
Babka, a partner in the Swansea firm Chatham & Babka, has handled personal injury, workers' compensation and family law.
A graduate of St. Louis University Law School, Babka, 50, is a former part-time assistant state's attorney in Monroe County and before that was a part-time public defender in St. Clair County and served as guardian ad litem.
