Karen Jackson filed suit Jan. 21 against Nicholas R. Troxell of East Alton seeking damages in excess of $50,000 for injuries she received in an auto accident.
Jackson's vehicle flipped over when it was struck on the driver's side by Troxell, who failed to yield at the intersection of Route 111 and Ryan's Court in Jersey County, according to the suit. The accident took place Aug. 27, 2003.
As a result of the accident, Jackson claims she's suffered great pain and anguish past and future, incurred medical expenses, lost the ability to produce income and also suffers from loss of a normal life.
Jackson is represented by David Dugan of East Alton. The case has been assigned to Circuit Judge George J. Moran Jr.
Margaret Bordoni also filed suit Jan. 21 for injuries sustained in an auto accident. Seeking in excess of $60,000, she claims Mark J. Regan collided with her vehicle on Nov. 10, 2003, at Keebler and Beltline in Collinsville.
Bordoni claims she suffered extensive injuries to her head, body and limbs, both internally and externally, along with injuries to her neck, shoulder and low back.
Soft issue injuries Bordoni claims include those to the cervical, shoulder, and lumbar area, as well as muscles, ligaments, tendons and nerves. According to the complaint, she had to spend money for medical care to treat these injuries.
John Hustava of Collinsville is representing Bordoni. The case has been assigned to Circuit Judge Nicholas Byron.
Wanda Holmes also filed suit Jan. 21 in Madison County Circuit Court individually and on behalf of her child, Jeremaya, claiming that on Jan. 24, 2003, Cynthia Lowe collided with them at Route 111 and Lorena in Wood River.
Holmes claims Lowe drove at an excessive speed and failed to slow down when approaching the intersection. The suit also alleges Lowe drove the vehicle without brakes adequate to control her movement, and she failed to sound the horn to give warning of her approach.
As a result of Lowe's negligence, Holmes claims she and her child were both seriously injured. Holmes is seeking to collect at least $150,000 in damages for injuries and medical bills, mental anguish and loss of wages.
Holmes is represented by William Beatty of Edwardsville. The case has been assigned to Circuit Judge Daniel J. Stack.
