Tracy Wallace of Bethalto filed suit in Madison County on Nov. 19 against Gordon Harvey and Anchor Construction seeking in excess of $100,000 for a work-related injury.
Wallace, represented by Marc Parker of the Lakin Law Firm in Wood River, alleges that on June 23, 2003, while working at 2828 Ironwood Drive in Alton he fell 10 feet into an atrium. He injured his back, right wrist and right ankle.
The accident caused him to suffer great pain and mental anguish, as well as severe and permanent disability and disfigurement, he alleges.
Wallace alleges Anchor Construction was negligent in failing to place protective barriers around the opening, failing to post warning signs to inform him of the open atrium, and failing to train workers on proper methods of protecting themselves from open holes.
While endeavoring to become healed of his injuries, Wallace claims he is liable for large sums of money for nursing care and attention, as well as other related medical expenses
