Three class actions in one week for Kaltenbronn, D.C.
A day after Bethalto chiropractor Thomas L. Kaltenbronn, D.C. filed two class action lawsuits against insurance companies--claiming they deceptively reduced payments to him and other licensed healthcare providers--he filed a third against Pekin Insurance Company on Dec. 29 in Madison County Circuit Court.
Failure to diagnose stroke prompts suit
Joseph Lamere filed a medical malpractice suit Dec. 28 against Alton Memorial Hospital physician Charles Sammis, M.D. alleging the doctor failed to properly diagnose the onset of a stroke. He is seeking to recover more than $50,000 in damages.

Thomas Maag moves to drop lawsuit
Madison County plaintiff's attorney Thomas Maag has moved to drop a civil lawsuit he filed last month against a former campaign staffer for Illinois Supreme Court Justice Lloyd Karmeier.
Tillery's firm sues big tobacco again
Represented by trial attorney giants Korein Tillery of Belleville and SimmonsCooper of East Alton, a Nashville, Ill. couple filed a 12-count lawsuit against R.J. Reynolds (RJR) and Huck's Convenience Store in Madison County Circuit Court Dec. 28.
