Two Madison County citizens filed a lawsuit against a driver over allegations of vehicular negligence related to a 2013 accident.
Rebecca A. White and Logan M. White filed the suit on April 13 in Madison County Circuit Court against Christopher J. Dotzauer.
According to the filing, Rebecca White was driving eastbound on Horseshoe Lake Road in Collinsville on May 10, 2013. Logan White was a passenger in her car. As she prepared to turn south onto North Bluff Road, the defendant’s vehicle collided with hers.
White alleges that Dotzauer was negligent in failing to control his vehicle, keep a proper lookout for other vehicles, stop his vehicle when danger was imminent, brake to avoid collision and keep a sufficient distance from the plaintiff’s car.
The plaintiffs suffered severe and permanent damages from the collision including injuries to their heads, limbs, shoulder, spines and bodies, the suit says.
Alleging physical and mental anguish and medical expenses, the Whites seek damages in excess of $50,000, plus attorneys’ fees and costs. They are represented in the case by William Mateyka, of Mateyka & Associate in Granite City.
