A Madison County woman claims she suffered foot, ankle and leg injuries when she was knocked to the ground and ran over by a vehicle in the pick-up area at Lambert International Airport.
Rachel Olen filed a complaint on March 30 in Madison County Circuit Court against Darrin Paul Korte of Highland, alleging liability in an October 2013 motor vehicle incident in Missouri's St. Louis County.
According to the complaint, Olen was attempting to enter a vehicle in the passenger pick-up area of Lambert International Airport on or about Oct. 26, 2013, when the defendant allegedly allowed his vehicle to strike the plaintiff.
The suit states that when Olen fell to the ground, Korte’s vehicle ran over her left foot, injuring her left foot, ankle and leg. Olen’s injuries caused pain, medical treatment and bills, lost income and possible future loss of income, according to the complaint.
The plaintiff alleges that the collision was caused directly by the defendant’s negligence in failing to keep a careful lookout, control his vehicle, yield to pedestrians in the designated loading zone of the airport and take proper actions to avoid striking the plaintiff.
Olen is seeking damages in excess of $50,000, plus attorneys’ fees and costs. She is represented in the case by Michael Knepper and Kevin Sullivan of Sauter, Sullivan in St. Louis.
