An Alton man filed a lawsuit one day before the deadline against the driver of a vehicle who allegedly crashed into a tree, causing him injuries.
According to a lawsuit filed March 23 in Madison County Circuit Court, Reginald B. Price is suing Mark D. Shorter for injuries he suffered in a vehicle accident allegedly caused by Shorter.
According to the lawsuit, Price was a passenger in a vehicle driven by Shorter on Dec. 31, 2006, when Shorter caused the vehicle "to violently travel off the roadway and strike a tree on an embankment, causing injuries to Price.
The lawsuit was originally filed on Dec. 29, 2008, and was voluntarily dismissed on March 24, 2014. Price was left with a year to reinstate the case and he did so a day before the deadline.
Price seeks damages in excess of $100,000, plus costs.
