A St. Clair County woman filed suit against a driver for allegedly causing rear-end collision in Shiloh.
Megan Edwards filed the lawsuit on March 20 in St. Clair County Circuit Court against Dane Harris, alleging carelessness in an October 2014 motor vehicle accident.
Edwards was driving northbound on Green Mount Road in Shiloh on Oct. 7, 2014. Harris, operating a vehicle directly behind her, struck the plaintiff’s car with his vehicle from the rear, according to the complaint.
The plaintiff accuses the defendant of failing to keep a proper lookout for other vehicles, drive his vehicle safely and apply the brakes appropriately.
Arguing that he was driving his vehicle at an excessive rate of speed and was following her too closely, Edwards claims that she was made sick, sore and lame, disordered and disabled. She claims she incurred medical expenses and numerous bodily injuries, including injuries to her neck, shoulders and back, soft tissues, muscles, ligaments, tendons and nerves, as well as lost wages and diminished future earning capacity.
Edwards is seeking damages in excess of $50,000, plus attorneys’ fees and costs. She is represented by attorneys Thomas Rich, Kristina Cooksey and Michelle Rich of Thomas C. Rich in Fairview Heights.
