A former employee at Lively Grove Mine is suing Prairie State Generating Co. and a local staffing company for wrongful termination.
According to a lawsuit filed on March 9 in St. Clair County Circuit Court, Nathan Loucks is suing Prairie State Generating Co. and Custom Staffing Industrial.
He claims he was terminated on March 21, 2013, without just cause, while pursuing his rights under the Workers' Compensation Act. Loucks was injured on the job on March 20 and terminated the following day, the suit states.
Loucks is seeking undisclosed punitive damages, plus costs.
Loucks is represented by Brian T. McGovern of Hanagan and McGovern PC.
