Driver alleges injuries in rear-end collision

A Madison County woman is suing another driver who allegedly caused an Alton rear-end collision.

Tameco D. Booth of Alton filed a lawsuit on March 20 in Madison County Circuit Court against Mark V. Lucas, alleging carelessness and negligence in a 2011 motor vehicle accident.

According to the complaint, on Sept. 3, 2011, Booth was driving northbound on state Highway 67/Clark Bridge in Alton near the intersection of state Route 143. Booth claims Lucas' vehicle was directly behind hers. The suit states Booth stopped her car at the traffic light in the right turn lane when her vehicle was forcibly struck in the rear by Lucas' car.

Booth’s complaint accuses the defendant with failure to drive at proper reduced speed, keep a proper lookout, obey traffic signals, keep control of his vehicle, and brake, stop or swerve to avoid the accident.

She alleges injuries to her head, neck, shoulders, torso, ribs, arms, legs and general body. She claims she suffers from severe, permanent and progressive pain and suffering, lost wages and earning capacity and medical costs.

Booth seeks damages in excess of $50,000, plus attorney fees and costs. She is represented by attorney Carol Cagle of Alton.

Madison County Circuit Court case number: 15-L-363.
