Cavataio named 'Super Lawyer' and recognized by Althoff as 'Distinguished Alumni'

Sandberg Phoenix shareholder and managing partner of the firm’s O’Fallon office Lorraine Cavataio was recently named an Illinois Super Lawyer in the area of Estate Planning & Probate and was recognized by Althoff Catholic High School as one of its top 50 Distinguished Alumni on the celebration of the school’s 50th anniversary.

Super Lawyers rates attorneys who have attained a high-degree of peer recognition and professional achievement. Attorneys are selected using a multiphase selection process.

Peer nominations and evaluations are combined with third party research. Each candidate is evaluated on 12 indicators of peer recognition and professional achievement and selections are made on an annual, state-by-state basis.

Cavataio focuses her legal practice on business law, estate planning, estate and trust administration, litigation and real estate, and has represented a wide range of clients for more than 19 years.

Illinois Super Lawyers has recognized Lorraine for her handling of trusts and wills, estate and trust administration and litigation, in addition to other matters in which she assists clients, including mergers and acquisitions, commercial and residential leasing, tortious interference, and tax objections.

A graduate of Althoff Catholic High School in Belleville, Cavataio was also recently honored by the school, which selected her as one of 50 Distinguished Alumni.

Cavataio was recently asked by the American College of Trust and Estate Counsel to speak at its annual meeting in Marco Island, Fla. from March 10-15.

“Lorraine is a constant source of inspiration for her colleagues at the firm and throughout the legal community,” said Sandberg Phoenix managing partner John Sandberg. “She is a powerful advocate on behalf of her clients and a strong voice in support of professional women, and we are very proud of what she’s accomplished and continues to contribute.”
