A Granite City woman is suing over a slip and fall incident that occurred two years ago on a US Bank sidewalk.
Rhonda DeForest filed suit against the bank on March 6 in Madison County Circuit Court.
The alleged incident took place May 4, 2013 near 3303 Nameoki Rd. in Granite City, the suit claims. DeForest says the pavement surface was uneven, causing a change in elevation and a hole in the sidewalk.
The sidewalk deviation had accumulated debris from a nearby hill of landscaping rocks, the suit says. The plaintiff allegedly slipped on the rocks gathered in the hole, catching her foot and causing her to fall to the ground.
Claiming lost wages, medical expenses, disfigurement and/or disability, DeForest seeks damages in excess of $50,000, plus attorneys’ fees and costs. She is being represented by attorney George Albers of Roth Law Offices in Granite City.
