A tractor trailer driver accused of shedding parts, debris and other material from his vehicle on southbound I-55 in Festus, Mo. is being sued in St. Clair County Circuit Court.
Violette J. Nast filed a complaint Feb. 9 against Jose D. Serrano, and trucking companies B.T. Trucking Inc., doing business as Blue Thunder Trucking, as well as B.T. Transportation Group.
Nast claims that she suffered serious personal injuries when debris came into the path of her vehicle on I-55 near mile marker 176 on March 7, 2013.
Among other things, Nast claims Serrano failed to remove his vehicle from the highway when danger to plaintiff and others was imminent.
She seeks in excess of $50,000 in damages.
