An East St. Louis woman and her passenger are suing the driver they claim collided with the rear of their vehicle.
Latoiya Butchee and passenger Laneisha Kidd through her mother Maranda Butchee filed suit against Lanell N. Thomas on Feb. 13 in St. Clair County Circuit Court.
The plaintiffs, who claim serious injuries as a result of the accident, say that Thomas lost control of his vehicle as he was eastbound on Caseyville Avenue at its intersection with North Park Drive in East St. Louis.
The suit also claims that Thomas operated his vehicle at a speed greater than was reasonable.
The plaintiffs seek in excess of $50,000 in damages.
They are represented by Mark Scoggins of Columbia.
