Madison County Circuit Judge William Mudge has been named to the Supreme Court e-Business Technical Committee by the Illinois Supreme Court.
The Committee will work under the direction of the e-Business Advisory Board to develop standards in the data management of case management systems and state agencies.
The 11-member committee is responsible for working with the vendors and other agencies to define standards for specific e-business transmissions and to establish the technical requirements for data exchanges approved by the Supreme Court and its e-Business Advisory Board.
Mudge said a Dec. 17 committee meeting is set to take up a variety of civil and criminal court initiatives that involve the committee: electronic search warrants, e-signatures, e-citations, e-record, electronic access policy for circuit court records, and data and document exchange.
He also said he was "honored" to be recommend by Supreme Court Justice Lloyd Karmeier and subsequently appointed by the full court, along with Madison County Chief Judge Dave Hylla and Circuit Clerk Von Nida, to the committee.
"I'm excited that the state continues to move forward in the area of electronic public and attorney access and communication with the circuit clerk and the court," he said. "It enhances not only access but improves transparency and accountability - something that is owed to the citizens of Madison County and our state and something that I firmly believe is in line with our duties as judges."
Mudge previously served on the Supreme Court’s Technology committee.
