A woman has filed suit against the funeral home whose vehicle rear-ended her own.
Amy McKay filed suit Aug. 12 in the St. Clair County Circuit Court against Dashner Strauss Funeral Home LTD. and Greg Leesman.
According to the complaint, McKay was driving south in the area of State Route 3 and Palmer Road on Dec. 15, 2012, when defendant Leesman, who was driving a vehicle owned by defendant Dashner Strauss Funeral Home, rear-ended her.
Due to the collision, McKay suffered neck, back, shoulder and knee injuries, incurred medical costs and lost wages, according to the complaint. She blames the defendants for causing the collision, saying Leesman negligently failed to keep a proper lookout, failed to keep his vehicle under proper control, drove too fast and followed her vehicle too closely.
Leesman is seeking a judgment of more than $100,000. She is being represented by attorney John M. English of Kassly, Bone and English in Belleville.
St. Clair County Circuit Court case number 14-L-590.
