Madison County Associate Judge Keith Jensen is retiring Aug. 31.
Chief Judge Dave Hylla announced today that lawyers interested in applying for the vacancy have until 5 p.m. on Sept. 2 to submit paperwork to the Administrative Office of the Illinois Courts (AOIC).
Eligible applicants include U.S. citizens who are licensed to practice in Illinois and who reside within the Third Judicial Circuit - Madison and Bond counties.
Applicants must submit two original applications to the director of the AOIC.
The Circuit's nine elected circuit judges vote on the appointment of associate judges.
