A man claims he and a minor sustained various injuries when a driver rear-ended the vehicle in which they were riding.
Victor and Daniel Marinko filed a lawsuit Feb. 14 in the Madison County Circuit Court against Carolyn Stevens.
The Marinkos claim Victor Marinko was driving on West Street at the intersection of West Schwarz on Feb. 15, 2012, when defendant Stevens, who was driving south on West Street behind the vehicle, struck the back of it.
Because of the collision, the Marinkos sustained various injuries to their heads, skulls, neck and body, suffered severe pain and incurred medical costs, according to the complaint.
In their complaint, the Marinkos blame Stevens for causing the collision, saying she negligently failed to stop, drove too fast, failed to keep a proper lookout and failed to keep her vehicle under proper control, the suit states.
The Marinkos are seeking an unspecified judgment, plus costs and other relief the court deems just.
They are being represented by D. Todd Matthews of Gori, Julian and Associates in Edwardsville.
