Accident at Frank Scott and 161 leads to suit

A woman has filed suit against the driver she claims failed to obey the right-of-way and struck her vehicle.

Antonia J. Williams filed a lawsuit Jan. 16 in St. Clair County Circuit Court against Jeremy W. Cox.

According to the complain, Williams was driving west on Highway 161 at its intersection with Frank Scott Parkway on Sept. 1, when the defendant, who was attempting to make a left turn onto Frank Scott Parkway from Highway 161, struck her vehicle.

Because of the collision, Williams incurred medical costs, lost her income and incurred automobile damages, according to the complaint. Cox negligently failed to yield the right-of-way and failed to keep a careful lookout, the suit states.

Williams is seeking a judgment of more than $50,000, plus costs and other relief the court deems just.

She is being represented by Christopher K. Geldmacher of Sauter and Sullivan in St. Louis.

St. Clair County Circuit Court case number 14–L-114.
