Illini State Trucking sued over fatal accident

A collision between a vehicle and a semi-truck has resulted in a lawsuit after one of the crash victims dies.

Terry Woodstock, as special administrator of the Estate of Sharon Woodcock, deceased, filed a lawsuit Jan. 21 in the St. Clair County Circuit Court against Illini State Trucking Company and George Sansoucie.

In her complaint, Terry alleges Sharon Woodstock was riding in a vehicle traveling east on Stolle Road through its intersection with Illinois Route 3 in Dupo on Dec. 26. Suddenly, defendant George Sansoucie, who was working for Illini State Trucking Company and driving a tractor-trailer north on Route 3, failed to stop for a red light and entered the intersection, according to the complaint. He struck the vehicle in which Sharon Woodstock was riding, causing her death, the suit states.

Terry Woodstock is seeking a judgment of more than $100,000, plus costs.

The plaintiff is being represented by Bruce R. Cook of Cook, Ysursa, Bartholomew, Brauer and Shevlin in Belleville.

St. Clair County Circuit Court case number 14-L-117.
