A woman has filed suit against the driver who she claims struck her as she was walking down the street.
Elsie Paul filed a lawsuit Jan. 16 in the St. Clair County Circuit Court against Barbara A. Wirth.
According to the complaint, Paul was walking on Fullerton Road at its intersection with Illinois Route 159 in Swansea on Oct. 5, when the defendant, who was driving a 1999 Dodge Stratus, struck her.
Because of the incident, Paul sustained leg injuries, incurred medical costs, experienced pain and suffering and endured a diminished quality of life, according to the complaint.
Paul is seeking a judgment of more than $50,000.
She is being represented by John H. Leskera of Leskera Law Firm in Collinsville.
