A St. Clair County woman has filed suit against the driver who she claims struck her vehicle in the middle of an intersection.
Kristina M. Fenton filed a lawsuit Feb. 5 in the Madison County Circuit Court against Alexis P. Hutt.
Fenton claims she was driving west on Lebanon Road on April 20, 2012, when the defendant, who was driving east on the same road, collided with the front and side of her vehicle. Because of the collision, Fenton sustained significant injuries to her neck, upper and lower back and right leg and underwent extensive surgery, according to the complaint. She also incurred medical costs, lost her mobility and endured disability, the suit states.
Hutt negligently failed to warn of her impending approach, failed to keep a proper lookout ahead, drove in an imprudent manner and drove on the wrong side of the road, according to the complaint.
Fenton is seeking a judgment of more than $50,000, plus costs and other relief the court deems just. She is being represented by James E. Hopkins of Brown and Crouppen in St. Louis.
Madison County Circuit Court case number 14-L-186.
