Marine Township car accident leads to lawsuit

Rose Marie Cann filed suit in Madison County Circuit Court on Jan. 9, claiming Logan Marie Repucci is responsible for injuries suffered in a rear-end accident in October 2012.

Cann claims she was traveling northbound on Illinois Route 160, about half a mile south of Pocahontas Road in Marine Township, when she slowed down for a stopping school bus. Cann allegedly saw the lights flashing on the bus and slowed her vehicle to a stop. Repucci was behind her and apparently did not see the bus, according to Cann. Cann stopped and was subsequently rear-ended by Repucci who was allegedly negligently operating her car, the suit claims.

Cann apparently suffered injuries from the collision and now seeks to hold Repucci liable for the cost associated therewith.

Cann is seeking more than $50,000 in damages. She is being represented by attorney Larry A. Calvo of Granite City.

Madison County Circuit Court Case No. 14-L-76.
