A heroin supplier to former St. Clair County judge Michael Cook will be sentenced by U.S. District Judge Michael Reagan at federal court in East St. Louis on Thursday.
Sean McGilvery of Belleville pleaded guilty Oct. 17 to conspiring to distribute heroin. In his stipulation, McGilvery said that Cook would pick up heroin from him on an almost daily basis from his residence.
McGilvery faces 10 years to life imprisonment.
He is represented by public defender Rodney Holmes.
Cook’s sentencing was rescheduled from Jan. 17 to Feb. 26 by District Judge Joe Billy McDade who indicated he could reject a recommended 18- month sentence in favor of an “upward variance.”
