Two people have filed suit against the driver who they claim struck their vehicle, causing them to sustain head, neck, back, shoulder, arm and leg injuries.
John and Lyndelle Luecking claim they were traveling on Missouri Avenue near Sixth Street when defendant Vanessa Beatrice Wright failed to keep a proper lookout and struck their vehicle.
Because of the collision, the Lueckings suffered damages of $1,193.35, sustained various injuries, lost income and incurred medical costs, according to the complaint filed Nov. 12 in St. Clair County Circuit Court.
They blame Wright for causing the collision, saying she negligently failed to yield, failed to keep a proper lookout, failed to reduce her speed to avoid an accident and improperly used a lane.
In addition to the damages they claim they incurred, the Lueckings are seeking a judgment of more than $50,000, plus costs and other relief the court deems just.
Ronald Robinson of Evans and Dixon will be representing them.
