Driver alleges negligence in three-car collision

A motorist injured in a three-car accident is suing the other two drivers involved.

Donna Levar filed a lawsuit on June 9 in Madison County Circuit Court against Austin Bogle and Jeanette Williams, citing vehicular negligence.

According to the complaint, Levar was driving a 2006 Toyota Scion XB south along and upon St. James Drive in Edwardsville around June 10, 2013. At the same time Bogle was driving a 1999 Jeep Grand Cherokee north along St. James Drive while Williams was driving a 2010 Chevy Impala west along state Route 140 in Edwardsville. The suit states that both Bogle and Williams negligently operated their respective vehicles as to cause a collision with Levar's vehicle

Bogle is faulted with failing to properly follow the signaling devices at the intersection and the suit claims that both defendants failed to properly control their vehicles, keep a proper lookout, drive at a safe speed, and reduce their speed to avoid colliding with another vehicle or person.

As a result of the collision, Levar claims she endured internal and external injuries, pain and anguish, medical expenses and lost wages.

Levar is seeking damages in excess of $50,000 from both defendants, plus costs of suit.

The plaintiff is represented by Patrick G. Johnston of Johnston Law Offices, P.C. in Edwardsville.

Madison County Circuit Court case number 15-L-746.
