A woman injured by a driver in a parking lot is suing for the injuries she allegedly sustained in the accident.

Martha and Richard Pinones filed a complaint on May 19 in St. Clair County Circuit Court against Daniel Baudendistel.

On June 28, 2013, Martha Pinones was standing in a parking spot at the Skyview Drive-In at 5700 North Belt West in Belleview, while Baudendistel was pulling into a parking spot in his vehicle. The lawsuit states that the defendant hit Martha Pinones and is accused of negligence for failing to keep a proper lookout; reduce speed; keep his vehicle under control; see the plaintiff standing next to her vehicle; and operate his vehicle at a reasonable speed.

As a result, the lawsuit states, Pinones suffered injuries, pain and suffering, medical expenses, and lost wages and earning capacity.

The plaintiffs seek damages in excess of $50,000, plus costs.

The plaintiff is represented by Patrick G. Johnston and Benjamin T. Stephens of the Johnston Law Offices PC in Edwardsville.
