Voters rejected Gov. Pritzker’s Tax Hike Amendment because they didn’t trust him or the rest of the politicians in Springfield with more power and more of their tax dollars.

Mike Madigan is officially out as Speaker of the House, State Representative for the 22nd District in Chicago, and after nominating his handpicked successor over the weekend, he stepped down as the powerful Chairman of the State Democratic Party.

The Special Investigative Committee officially put an end to their “investigation” into Mike Madigan’s alleged involvement in the ComEd bribery scandal Monday afternoon. Each Democrat member of the committee headed by State Rep. Chris Welch (D-Hillside) voted to strike down a motion to discipline the Speaker.

Last week, Mike Madigan’s closest confidant, Mike McClain, and three others were arraigned for their alleged involvement in the ComEd bribery scandal. All four plead not guilty and are set to appear again in court on February 16, 2021.

By this time, with the millions of dollars spent for and against, you have been inundated with advertising on Gov. Pritzker’s so-called “Fair Tax.” Pritzker himself put in $56 million of his own fortune into the “Vote Yes” campaign.
