For the 16th consecutive year, Thompson Coburn has achieved a perfect score of 100 on the Human Rights Campaign’s Corporate Equality Index (CEI). The survey, conducted by the Human Rights Campaign Foundation, is a national benchmarking tool on corporate policies, practices and benefits relevant to lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer employees.

Thompson Coburn joins the ranks of 765 major U.S. businesses that earned top marks on the 2025 survey. The CEI rates employers providing these crucial protections to more than 22 million U.S. workers and includes Fortune magazine’s 500 largest publicly traded businesses, American Lawyer magazine’s top 200 revenue-grossing law firms (AmLaw 200), and hundreds of publicly and privately held mid- to large-sized businesses.

The results of the 2025 CEI showcase how U.S.-based companies are promoting LGBTQ+ friendly workplace policies in the U.S. and abroad. This year’s CEI includes 1,449 businesses – the highest number of rated companies since the start of the CEI in 2002.

“At its core, the work of the CEI is about understanding, commitment and compassion – it doesn’t happen overnight. Since the start of this work 22 years ago, we’ve seen drastic shifts in corporate America towards more equitable and inclusive working conditions, family formation and healthcare benefits, and non-discrimination protections,” said HRCF President Kelley Robinson.
