Armstrong Teasdale is proud to announce that it has renewed its commitment to seek Mansfield Certification for the 2024-2025 cohort. The Mansfield Rule is a structured certification process designed to ensure all talent at participating law firms has a fair and equal opportunity to advance.

Launched as a pilot program in 2017 with 35 firms, the Mansfield Certification cohort now numbers more than 365 firms and includes 83% of the Am Law 100. Mansfield is a year-long structured certification process designed to ensure all qualified talent at participating law firms has a transparent, fair, and equal opportunity to be considered for advancement into leadership. The focus is on opening the door wider and ensuring that opportunities for advancement are inclusive for everyone. Mansfield is intended to expand opportunities, not limit or decrease them for anyone.

“Renewing our commitment to Mansfield Certification is an example of Armstrong Teasdale’s ongoing commitment to advancing equitable treatment in our law firm and throughout the legal profession,” said Chief Diversity Officer Kenneth E. Sharperson. “This affords us the opportunity to continue building upon our previous DEI initiatives and encourage others to do the same. We’re proud to be part of this growing cohort.”

Each year, firms are asked to recommit to the principles of transparency, accountability, and knowledge sharing that are required through the certification process. Mansfield supports participating firms by providing the structure and guidance needed to build and maintain transparent processes, open the door wider for all talent, and connect and collaborate with each other to exchange best practices.

Armstrong Teasdale initially achieved Mansfield 6.0 Certification in 2022-2023 and renewed its commitment for the 2023-2024 cohort. Firms that achieved certification in that cohort will be announced in fall 2024.
