EDWARDSVILLE — A dental patient claims a dentist applied a crown to the wrong front tooth.

Erika Odelehr filed a complaint on Nov. 20 in the Madison County Circuit Court against Dr. Dean Danos, D.D.S., Dr. Simone Favor, D.D.S., Aspen Dental Management Inc., and Aspen Dental, alleging negligence.

According to her complaint, Odelehr began treatment by Favor at Aspen Dental in Alton for a cavity on her front tooth in June 2022. She claims Favor recommended a crown for her tooth, which was put in by Danos in September 2022. She alleges Danos put the crown on the wrong tooth. Odelehr claims Favor then performed a crown on the correct tooth in October 2022.

The plaintiff alleges the defendants were negligent for failing to communicate the treatment plan and for removing a sound tooth that required no treatment. She also alleges the defendants over-contoured the crowns and failed to match the crown to the rest of her teeth in size and color.

Odelehr seeks monetary relief of more than $50,000, interest and all other just relief. She is represented by Samantha Luck of Williamson, Webster, Faub & Glisson in Alton.
