BELLEVILLE — A woman is suing a Belleville nail salon after her toe had to be amputated following a pedicure.

Jill Schreder filed a complaint in the St. Clair Circuit Court against American Nails, alleging negligence.

According to her complaint, Schreder received a pedicure at American Nails salon on North Belt West in Belleville on April 27, 2022. She alleges she sustained a cut while she was there, requiring her toe to be amputated.

Schreder claims the defendant was negligent for failing to keep their premises in a reasonably safe condition or failing to repair the premises. She also claims the defendant failed to warn the public of the hazard and failed to to barricade or block off the dangerous and defective area. Schreder alleges that as a result of her traumatic injuries, she has suffered pain, anguish and incurred medical costs.

Schreder seeks monetary relief of more than $50,000, trial by jury, interest and all just relief. She is represented by Jack McCormack of Morgan & Morgan in St. Louis.
