EDWARDSVILLE – A woman is suing Argosy Casino in Alton for negligence after allegedly tripping over a hump on the floor and injuring herself.

Plaintiff Vicki L. Renault filed the lawsuit in the Madison County Circuit Court against Alton Casino, LLC, doing business as Argosy Casino, citing negligence and premises liability.

According to the lawsuit, Renault was a patron of the Argosy Casino in Alton on Oct. 29, 2021. Renault claims that while she was walking on the main level gaming floor of the establishment, she tripped over a hump or uneven flooring. As a result, she claims she was caused to fall and sustain severe injury to her left knee.

According to Renault, the defendants were negligent for failing to properly inspect and maintain the premises to protect the safety of their visitors and failing to provide proper warning of the dangerous conditions of the restroom.

The plaintiff is seeking damages in excess of $50,000 for pain, suffering, mental anguish, disfigurement, medical expenses, loss of normal life and loss of income, plus court costs and any other relief the court deems proper. She is represented in this case by attorney Zachary W. Tobin of Pratt & Tobin, P.C. in East Alton.
