BELLEVILLE – A shopper is suing the Shogun Steakhouse in Fairview Heights after she allegedly slipped and injured herself in the restaurant.

Plaintiff Lakesha Moorman filed the lawsuit in the St. Clair County Circuit Court against Shogun Steakhouse of Japan FH, Inc., citing negligence.

According to the lawsuit, Moorman was a patron of the Shogun restaurant in Fairview Heights on Sept. 12, 2021. She claims that while she was on the premises, she was on her way to the restroom when she allegedly slipped on wet floor tiles, causing her to fall and suffer severe injuries.

According to Moorman, Shogun negligently failed to properly maintain the premises to protect the safety of its customers.

Moorman alleges that, as a result of the defendant's negligence, she sustained bodily injuries that have caused her to endure pain and suffering.

The plaintiff is seeking damages in excess of $50,000 plus court costs, attorneys fees, and any other relief the court deems proper. She is represented in this case by attorney Grey Chatham, Jr. of Chatham & Baricevic in Belleville.
