EDWARDSVILLE – A railroad employee claims he was injured on the job when he fell from a locomotive.
Plaintiff Gregg Blasioli filed a lawsuit in the Madison County Circuit Court against Norfolk Southern Railway Company, citing negligence.
According to the lawsuit, Blasioli was employed by Norfolk Southern Railway Company as a conductor and remote control operator. Blasioli claims that on Aug. 15, 2020, he was injured on the job when dismounting from a locomotive.
Blasioli alleges the defendant was negligent in failing to provide him with safe equipment to conduct his duties and failing to provide reasonably safe working conditions to protect the safety of its employees.
Blasioli claims he sustained severe injuries to his neck and back, which caused him to experience pain, suffering, mental anguish, disability, disfigurement, and lost wages, and that his injuries will impact his ability to earn income and enjoy normal life. He further claims that he has incurred medical expenses and will require the continued services of medical staff to recover.
The plaintiff is seeking damages in excess of $50,000, plus court costs. He is represented in this case by the attorney Benjamin P. Tobin of Pratt & Tobin, P.C. in East Alton.
